Summer events in the largest and the most beautiful municipality in Finland
Since 2009, the objective of Inari Weeks has been to bring together traditional summer events in the region and produce new activities for locals and tourists alike.
Inari Weeks has established its position as a ten-day event at the end of July. The programme offers something for everyone: village festivals, gold panning competitions, children’s events, markets, concerts, church festivals, traditional music, art exhibitions, hiking, dancing, singsongs and theatre.
The number of visitors has increased steadily from under 10,000 in the first years to the current figures of about 11,000–13,000. The organisers have had the courage to innovate and offer something new every year, and to stop producing events that are less attractive to visitors or our voluntary organisers.
Inari Weeks is a joint operation by the Municipality of Inari, local associations, enterprises and community-spirited citizens. Thanks to joint marketing, small village events, experimental cultural gatherings and start-up or innovative enterprises can gain publicity.
Inari Weeks has become an important part of the summer for local residents, and they play an integral role in increasing the attractiveness and positive reputation of the area as a destination for summer tourism.
Dance, sing, play, fish, pan for gold and tell your stories at Inari Weeks.
